People guiding students and performing healthcare work at universities play important roles in offering comprehensive support for student well-being, maintaining peoples’ ability to study, and promoting communality. Work preventing harm caused by substance use and promoting mental health is central in well-being work at universities, and the KUPLA project provides support for these topics.
The project provides an educational model and guide for university staff that covers the prevention of harm caused by substance use and the promotion of mental health as part of guidance, education and well-being work. It also supports the readiness to tackle issues related to substance use. In addition, the project supports university communities in developing and implementing the student substance abuse programme.
